EVENTS BASED ON BOOKS AND THE AUTHORS WHO MAKE THEM FAMOUS!
September 2006
The first ever uBookMark It event was a private affair in honor of author Martha McPhee.
Based on McPhee's exquisite novel, L'America, a small gathering of 30 women enjoyed an evening
of rustic Italian fare, live harp music, and a private reading by McPhee from the newly released book.
L'America is a provocative tale about an Italian-American romance defined by the cross-cultural
conflicts between two star-crossed lovers. Although the event was intended as a special honor
for Martha, by her encouragement it became the catalyst to an "author based event series" that was
about to blow the dust off of traditional book signings.
February 2007
Author Andrea Chapin and Sally Wofford-Girand (Brickhouse Literary Agency) were
the guests of honor for this first, official public event: an evening of champagne and chocolate
at The Melting Pot (a fondue restaurant). The event was promoted under the original series
banner, Book It! Events.
The Honeymoon's Over: True Stories of Love, Marriage, and Divorce is a brilliant
anthology of essays by female writers about the intimacies and challenges of commitment.

Robert Wagner took centerstage with his memoir, Pieces of My Heart.
The Hollywood hunk captivated a packed audience with his old-world charm
and entertaining stories from behind the scenes of the silver screen.
Pieces of My Heart, A Life, drew much attention as Wagner's first public
recounting of Natalie Wood's tragic death. The book's success, however,
can be attributed to Wagner's admirable character and the warmth with which
he recounts the greatest loves and heartbreaking losses that define him.
